The Media Council of Kenya is an independent national institution established by the Media Council Act 2013 for purposes of setting of media standards and ensuring compliance with those standards as set out in Article 34(5) of the Constitution and for connected purposes.

Duration of the Industrial Attachment The attachment lasts for three months: January- March 2026.
Eligibility
- Students pursuing a degree or diploma in Journalism, Media Studies, Communication, Digital Communication or Corporate Communication who meet the requirements below are eligible to apply.
Placement
Successful applicants will be placed in recognised media and communication outlets across the country in the following areas of specialisation:
- Broadcast (Radio/Television)
- Technical/Production
- Digital Content Creation
CALL FOR APPLICATIONS JANUARY-MARCH 2026 COHORT
- The Media Council of Kenya (MCK), in partnership with recognised media houses, runs a media industrial attachment programme designed to provide journalism and communication students with practical work experience before graduation and to prepare them for the job market.
Application Requirements
- Final-year student at a recognised university or college.
- Recommendation letter from the university/college, issued within the last two months, stating the period for which the placement is required.
- Academic transcripts for the current academic year.
- Valid Student Identification Card.
- Valid MCK Student Press Card 2026.
- Mandatory sample of journalistic work (this may include published online content, school projects, etc.).
