The Mater Hospital was opened in 1962 by the Sisters of Mercy, a Catholic Order of Nuns originating from Ireland. Initially set up as a 60-bed general hospital, the institution has grown to provide comprehensive healthcare services while maintaining its founding values of compassion and quality care.
Main Duties

Assess patients’/clients’ health needs and diet.

Counsel patients on nutrition issues and healthy eating habits.

Develop meal plans, considering cost and clients’ preferences.

Evaluate the effects of meal plans and modify as needed.
-
Promote better nutrition through group talks about diet, nutrition, and disease prevention.

Keep up with the latest nutritional science research.
-
Conduct nutritional assessments for children and vulnerable adults.
-
Conduct home visits, assess needs, and make appropriate referrals.

Provide nutritional counseling and education.
-
Facilitate treatment preparation and develop appropriate educational services.

ART adherence counseling.
-
Write reports to document patient progress.
-
Participate in quality improvement initiatives and provide reports as required.

Perform any other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications and Skills
-
Diploma in Nutrition (BSc in Nutrition/Dietetics is desired).

Minimum 3 years’ experience in a busy setup.

Evaluation and reporting skills.
-
Attention to detail.
-
Valid KNDI Practice Licence.
