State Plans to Roll Out Huduma Centres in Each Constituency

The Kenyan government, through the Ministry of Public Service, has announced plans to establish Huduma Centres in all 290 constituencies nationwide as part of the Bottom-Up Transformative Agenda and Kenya Vision 2030. Currently, there are 58 Huduma Centres across the country. This expansion aims to bring services closer to citizens, enhancing convenience and efficiency in public service delivery.

Principal Secretary for Public Service, Amos Gathecha, highlighted the commitment to increase accessibility during the launch of Kenya Institute of Supplies Management Services (KISM) at ten Huduma Centres. He emphasized that deploying KISM services within Huduma Centres will eliminate the need for supply chain practitioners to travel to Nairobi, thereby decentralizing services and reducing associated costs.

The integration of KISM into Huduma Centres will enable individuals and organizations to access membership registration and renewals, receive certification and licensing services, and obtain information on continuous professional development programs, along with general inquiries and support. This partnership reflects the evolving needs of professionals who require seamless access to KISM services.

Additionally, the Huduma Universal Agent initiative has been recognized as a key enabler of this partnership. These agents are Huduma staff trained to offer multiple services on behalf of various ministries, departments, and agencies, thereby increasing the efficiency and reach of public services.

This initiative aligns with the government’s commitment to decentralize services and ensure that citizens across all constituencies have equitable access to essential public services, thereby enhancing overall service delivery and supporting national development goals.
