About the African Development Bank Internship Program 2025
The African Development Bank (AfDB) invites students and recent graduates to apply for Session 2 of its 2025 Internship Program. As Africa’s premier multilateral development finance institution, AfDB works to accelerate economic development and social progress across its 81 member countries, including 54 in Africa.
The AfDB internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in key development sectors while contributing to high-impact projects that support Africa’s growth and transformation.
Objectives of the AfDB Internship Program
- Provide graduate students with practical and professional work experience.
- Create a pool of qualified, motivated candidates for potential future recruitment.
- Contribute to the Bank’s mission of sustainable development and poverty reduction in Africa.

Eligibility Criteria – Who Can Apply
To be eligible for the AfDB Internship 2025 (Session 2), applicants must:
- Be 30 years old or younger at the start of the internship.
- Be currently enrolled in a Master’s degree program OR have graduated within the last 12 months.
- Be a citizen of an AfDB member country.
- Be fluent in English or French (AfDB’s working languages).
- Be proficient in Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); SAP knowledge is a plus.
- Submit a CV and a letter of enrollment or degree certificate.

Work Modality: Remote or On-Site Internship
- Remote internships require reliable internet, a personal laptop, and a suitable working environment.
- On-site internships are based at AfDB HQ (Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire) or regional offices. Interns must cover travel and living expenses.
- Visa assistance is provided by AfDB, where applicable.
