Egerton University Releases 49th Provisional Graduation List Ahead of November Ceremony

Njoro, Kenya — Egerton University has released the 49th Provisional Graduation List, featuring 3,641 graduands who have been cleared by the University Senate to participate in the upcoming 49th Graduation Ceremony. The ceremony is scheduled to take place on Friday, 28th November 2025, at the university’s Njoro Main Campus.

According to a notice issued by the university administration, the listed graduands have been provisionally approved to graduate subject to the full payment of all outstanding fees and the mandatory graduation fee. The institution has set Monday, 3rd November 2025, as the deadline for clearing any pending balances. Those who fail to meet this requirement risk having their names expunged from the final graduation list.

The announcement marks the culmination of years of academic dedication by thousands of students from different faculties, including Agriculture, Arts and Social Sciences, Education, Engineering and Technology, Health Sciences, and Science. The ceremony is expected to attract hundreds of guests, including parents, guardians, university staff, alumni, and dignitaries from the education sector.

Egerton University, which remains one of Kenya’s oldest and most prestigious public universities, has continued to emphasize academic excellence and integrity in its graduation processes. The administration reminded graduands to confirm the accuracy and order of their names as they will appear both in the Graduation Booklet and on the official degree certificates.

In a clarification, the university outlined the standard naming format to be used for all graduands. For instance, a student named Kariuki Samuel Maina will have their name appear in the Graduation Booklet as: Kariuki Samuel Maina, while the Certificate will bear the name as: Samuel Maina Kariuki.

Graduands have been advised to carefully review and verify the spelling and order of their names to avoid discrepancies that could delay the issuance of certificates. Requests for corrections must be made promptly and within the stipulated timeframe.

The 49th Graduation Ceremony will celebrate students from diploma, undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral programs. Preparations are already underway, with the graduation committee finalizing logistical details, including gown collection, rehearsal schedules, and issuance of invitation cards.

Egerton University’s graduations have traditionally been vibrant occasions, celebrating academic achievement and innovation. This year’s event is expected to blend tradition with modern digital elements, as the institution continues to enhance its efficiency through the adoption of online systems for clearance, verification, and result confirmation.

The university has also urged graduands and the public to follow official communication channels for verified updates, emphasizing that any information not issued through the university’s website or official social media platforms should be treated with caution.

As the countdown to the ceremony begins, the institution looks forward to celebrating the academic success of the Class of 2025. The 49th Graduation Ceremony will not only mark a personal milestone for the graduands but also reinforce Egerton University’s legacy as a center of academic excellence, research, and community development.
