The County Government of Busia has officially announced a major recruitment drive for multiple senior administrative and technical positions aimed at strengthening service delivery across key departments. The announcement, made through the Busia County Public Service Board on November 5, 2025, invites qualified and experienced professionals to apply for various leadership roles before the set deadline.

In its statement, the Busia County Public Service Board reaffirmed its commitment to delivering quality public service with integrity, professionalism, and competence. The recruitment seeks to attract well-trained and skilled individuals to contribute to the county’s ongoing efforts to enhance governance, infrastructure, and public administration.

Among the advertised positions are several high-level leadership roles, including County Chief Officer – Budget, County Chief Officer – Revenue, County Chief Officer – Strategic Communication, County Chief Officer – Environment, County Chief Officer – Gender and Persons Living with Disabilities, and County Chief Officer – ICT, Strategic Partnerships & Digital Economy. These Chief Officers will play a critical role in formulating and implementing county policies within their respective departments, ensuring that Busia’s development agenda aligns with both county and national strategic goals.

Other available opportunities include Director of Human Resource Management and Development, Director of Roads, Director of Enforcement and Security, and senior appointments within the Busia County (Public Officers) Revolving Fund Board, such as Chairperson and Board Member. The Deputy County Secretary position is also open, providing an opportunity for experienced administrators to support the County Secretary in coordinating interdepartmental operations and policy execution.

According to the recruitment notice, interested applicants must demonstrate relevant qualifications, leadership experience, and a proven record of professional competence in public or private sector management. To be considered for these positions, applicants are required to submit a comprehensive application letter, a detailed curriculum vitae, and certified copies of academic and professional certificates, along with testimonials, a national identity card, and any other relevant supporting documents. As part of the mandatory requirements under the Public Service Commission guidelines, all applicants must attach valid clearance documents from five key institutions. These include:

  • A KRA Tax Compliance Certificate from the Kenya Revenue Authority,

  • A HELB Clearance Certificate from the Higher Education Loans Board,

  • A Certificate of Good Conduct from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI),

  • A CRB Clearance Certificate from a recognized Credit Reference Bureau, and

  • A Clearance Certificate from the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC).

Applications must be submitted in hard copy and delivered or mailed to the County Public Service Board offices located at Port Victoria Plaza, clearly addressed to:

All applications must reach the Board on or before Friday, November 14, 2025, at 5:00 p.m. Late submissions will not be considered.

The County Government emphasized that recruitment will strictly adhere to the principles of fairness, transparency, and competitiveness, in line with the provisions of the Constitution of Kenya (2010) and the County Governments Act (2012). Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted for interviews.
