Finn Church Aid, one of Finland’s largest development and humanitarian organizations, is currently recruiting a Finance and Admin Assistant for its operations in Baidoa, Southwest State, Somalia.

The position is locally hired and open to Somali nationals, with an application deadline set for June 1st, 2025. The selected candidate will begin work in July 2025, on a one-year contract with potential for extension.

Job Summary:

The Finance and Admin Assistant will support the ECHO-funded project in Baidoa, working under the supervision of the Project Manager or Office-in-Charge. The position involves multitasking across finance, administration, and logistical support. The candidate will coordinate closely with the Finance team, HR, and Project staff to ensure smooth and timely operations.


Key Responsibilities:

Financial Support:

  • Review payment vouchers and verify accuracy.

  • Perform monthly reconciliations for bank and petty cash accounts.

  • Maintain organized financial records ready for audit.

  • Process project payments and clear staff advances.

Partner & Documentation Support:

  • Help review and organize partners’ financial documents.

  • Track expenditure records and ensure documentation complies with donor standards.

  • Coordinate with logistics and program teams to collect supporting payment documentation.

Payment & Audit Support:

  • Prepare payment requests with complete verification.

  • Process payments via bank or cash, ensuring procedural compliance.

  • Assist with internal and external audits by organizing financial files.

Administrative Duties:

  • Maintain both finance and admin filing systems.

  • Handle general office supplies, equipment servicing, and asset management.

  • Coordinate travel, accommodation, and event logistics.

  • Support HR functions like timesheet collection, leave records, and onboarding new staff.


Qualifications & Experience Required:

✔️ Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field
✔️ Minimum 2 years’ experience in accounting and administration
✔️ Familiarity with accounting software – Unit4 is a plus
✔️ Previous NGO experience strongly preferred
✔️ Ability to analyze and verify payment documents
✔️ Fluent in English
✔️ Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
✔️ Willingness to travel and work under pressure
✔️ Cultural sensitivity and strong coordination abilities
