Government Owned Bank Announces Several Job Vacancies; How to Apply

A government-owned commercial bank has invited applications from qualified Kenyans for several job vacancies in September 2025.

The Consolidated Bank of Kenya advertised job vacancies for competent, qualified and interested individuals.

The bank, which is an SME lender of choice, said it aims to enhance its staff capacity to provide flexible solutions the support customers in the financial sector.

“Consolidated Bank is well-positioned, with a presence in the majority of the country’s business hubs to continually offer pleasant and convenient services.

“We seek to recruit competent, qualified and self-driven persons to fill various vacant positions,” read the job advert in the Daily Nation on Thursday, Sepetmebr 4.

Which jobs are available at Consolidated Bank?

The bank sought to recruit the following positions:

1. Systems Engineer

The job holder will be responsible for maintaining, supporting, and optimising the Bank’s Operating systems, Network and storage infrastructure to ensure high availability and performance.

Requirements:

  • Be a holder of a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Information Technology, or a related field from a recognised University
  • Should have a minimum of three years’ relevant working experience in systems administration or a similar role.
  • Should have excellent leadership skills with demonstrated ability to lead or facilitate mission-critical projects and to develop, participate in and lead multi-disciplinary work teams.

2. Information Systems Auditor

The individual will be responsible for reviewing and evaluating the automated information processing systems.

Requirements:

  • Be a holder of a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or IT related field.
  • Should possess a professional qualification in Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) and/or Certified Information Security Manager (CISM).
  • Should have a minimum of five years’ experience in information systems audit.

3. Legal Officer

The Legal Officer will be responsible for facilitating the interpretation of the Bank’s policies and procedures to ensure they are compliant.

Requirements:

  • Be a holder of a bachelor’s degree in Law from a recognised university.
  • Should have a Post-graduate diploma in Law from the Kenya School of Law.
  • Should have a minimum of three years’ experience in providing legal services in a commercial environment.

4. Relationship Officer – Corporate Banking

The job holder will be responsible for offering support to the Relationship Managers and the Head of Corporate Banking for credit appraisal.

Requirements:

  • Should possess a bachelor’s degree in commerce or a business-related field. Possession of professional banking qualifications such as AKIB, ACIB or CPA will be an added advantage.
  • Should have a minimum of four years’ relevant working experience in banking.
  • Should possess strong credit risk management skills.
