International Rescue Committee Announces Multiple Health and Administrative Job Vacancies in Turkana

The International Rescue Committee IRC has announced several full-time employment opportunities in Turkana County, targeting qualified professionals in healthcare, nutrition, sanitation, administration, and health information management. The positions are open to support hospital- and community-based health services, with applications accepted from December 25, 2025, and a closing date of January 6, 2026.

The IRC is a globally recognized humanitarian organization providing emergency relief, development assistance, and long term recovery programs for vulnerable communities. These latest job openings reflect the organization’s continued commitment to strengthening health systems and improving access to quality care in underserved regions.

Among the advertised roles is the Maternal and Child Health Nurse position, which focuses on antenatal, delivery, postnatal, neonatal, and child health services. The role involves immunization, nutrition linkage, family planning services, record keeping, community outreach, and supervision of junior staff. Candidates must be registered with the Nursing Council of Kenya and have at least one year of experience in a busy MCH setting.

The Sanitation Worker role emphasizes infection prevention and control within the hospital environment. Responsibilities include supervising cleaning teams, enforcing hygiene standards, managing medical waste, supporting IPC committees, and coordinating closely with clinical teams. Applicants are required to hold a diploma in environmental or public health, IPC certification, and a minimum of two years of relevant experience.

The Medical Officer position places the successful candidate in charge of overall hospital clinical operations. Duties include patient care, emergency response, ward rounds, surgical and obstetric procedures, referrals, staff supervision, and participation in audits and continuous medical education. Applicants must hold an MBChB degree, be registered with the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Board, and have at least two years of hospital experience.

Candidates should have a relevant bachelor’s degree or MBA and at least three years of senior management experience in a high volume hospital.
