JKUAT Announces 2025 Graduation Ceremony Set for December 5 at Main Campus

Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT) has officially announced that its 2025 Graduation Ceremony will be held on Friday, December 5, 2025, beginning at 8:00 a.m. at the Graduation Square, Main Campus, Juja. The prestigious event will celebrate the achievements of students who successfully completed their studies during the 2024/2025 academic year, including those from the Pan African University Institute for Basic Sciences, Technology and Innovation (PAUSTI). As one of Kenya’s leading universities in science, innovation, and technology, JKUAT’s graduation ceremonies continue to attract national attention and mark an important milestone in the academic calendar.

According to a formal communication from the Office of the Registrar (Academic Affairs), all eligible candidates are required to confirm their examination results and verify that their names appear correctly on the graduation list. The University has made it clear that any corrections to names must be completed by Monday, November 17, 2025, through the relevant forms available at the respective Schools. Changes requested after graduation will attract a processing fee of KShs. 3,000. The list of graduands will be published on the JKUAT website (www.jkuat.ac.ke), allowing candidates to confirm inclusion in the final graduation roll.

In preparation for the ceremony, graduands must also ensure they have cleared all outstanding financial obligations and dues owed to the University by Friday, November 7, 2025. The University has provided an efficient and secure payment method via the JKUAT E-Services portal (https://eservices.jkuat.ac.ke). Through this platform, students can access the Pay Fees menu, select the “Graduation Fees” option, and proceed to complete payment using the eCitizen gateway. This online system ensures transparency and convenience, minimizing paperwork and manual processes as part of JKUAT’s ongoing digital transformation agenda.

The mandatory graduation fees have been standardized for all categories of graduands. Ph.D. candidates will pay a total of KShs. 7,600, which covers KShs. 5,500 for graduation, KShs. 1,000 for gown hire, and KShs. 1,100 for alumni fees. Master’s graduands will pay KShs. 6,800, while Postgraduate Diploma recipients will be charged KShs. 6,200. Undergraduate and Diploma graduands will pay KShs. 5,200, and Certificate holders will contribute KShs. 3,700. The University has emphasized that all payments made toward graduation are non-refundable, urging graduands to observe the deadlines to avoid disqualification from the ceremony.

To ensure smooth coordination, all graduands are required to attend the mandatory rehearsal on Thursday, December 4, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at the Graduation Square. Those attending the rehearsal must be seated by the stated time and must wear complete graduation attire. The University underscored that vital information regarding the ceremony’s proceedings, seating arrangements, and protocol will be communicated during the rehearsal. Additionally, the institution noted that graduation attire will not be issued on the rehearsal day, emphasizing the need for early collection.

Graduation gowns and academic regalia will be available for collection from Monday, November 17, 2025, to Friday, November 28, 2025, during official working hours. Graduands wishing to hire gowns must first apply and pay the relevant fees through the E-Services portal before visiting their respective schools for collection. The University has also stated that all regalia must be returned by Friday, December 19, 2025, failure to which a penalty of KShs. 500 per day will be imposed. This measure ensures that academic attire is managed responsibly and made available for future ceremonies.

For convenience and security, JKUAT will issue electronic invitation cards to graduands via their registered email addresses. Each graduand will be required to print one invitation card and may be accompanied by two guests. Car passes will also be issued when collecting gowns from the respective schools. On the graduation day, both graduands and guests are expected to have taken their seats by 7:30 a.m. Late arrivals will not be allowed entry into the Graduation Square to maintain the ceremony’s order and flow.

The Office of the Registrar (Academic Affairs) reiterated that all graduands must clear for graduation online through the JKUAT E-Services portal. Once clearance is complete, students are expected to apply formally for graduation using the “Apply for Graduation” option on the portal. This process enables efficient preparation of the official graduation list and smooth issuance of academic regalia.

The University’s message underscores the importance of punctuality, discipline, and adherence to deadlines as hallmarks of the JKUAT culture. The institution continues to pride itself on producing globally competitive graduates who are well-equipped for the dynamic world of work and research. The upcoming ceremony is expected to attract thousands of guests, including government officials, academic leaders, families, and industry partners who collaborate closely with JKUAT.

As the countdown to December 5, 2025, continues, excitement is already building among students and staff. The graduation will not only mark academic success but also reaffirm JKUAT’s position as a leading center of innovation, science, and technology in Africa. The University remains committed to its mission of offering quality education, fostering research excellence, and contributing to sustainable development through innovation. Graduands are encouraged to stay informed through official University communication channels and to ensure all requirements are met ahead of this momentous occasion.
