Ministry of Education Releases 2025 KJSEA Results
The Ministry of Education has officially released the 2025 Kenya Junior Secondary Education Assessment (KJSEA) results. Education Cabinet Secretary Julius Ogamba, accompanied by Basic Education Principal Secretary Julius Bitok, presided over the release at New Mtihani House, Nairobi.
Learners, parents, and schools can now access results online through the Ministry’s selection portal at selection.education.go.ke/my-selections by entering the learner’s assessment number. For those without internet access, results can also be checked via SMS by sending the assessment number to 22263 at a cost of Sh30 per message.
“Learners will be required to enter the assessment number and any one of their names as per their registration data for the 2025 KJSEA assessment. The results will be accessed immediately after this session. I hereby declare the 2025 KJSEA examinations officially released,” CS Ogamba said.
The CS highlighted that the KJSEA, implemented under the Competency-Based Curriculum (CBC), evaluates learner competencies at the junior school level and provides essential guidance for senior school placement across STEM, Arts, Sport Science, and Social Sciences pathways. The assessment combines written examinations with practical and project-based components for selected subjects.
Ogamba noted that all registered candidates successfully sat the 2025 KJSEA and the Kenya Intermediate Level Education Assessment (KILEA), despite minor weather-related disruptions in some regions. He praised field officers and school administrators for ensuring the smooth conduct of the assessments.
“The KJSEA supports progression and planning by aligning each learner’s next steps with their demonstrated strengths and interests,” he said, adding that the assessment marks a key milestone in the ongoing transformation of Kenya’s education sector under the CBC framework.
