Location: Remote. Preferred time zone with availability between 9:00 CET and 17:00 CET – with flexibility required for occasional evening meetings. Availability and willingness to travel required.
Type of contract: Full-time position
Duration of contract: 1 year contract, renewable
Remuneration: Negotiated salary depending on experience

Role Overview

The Programme Lead will manage the foundation’s Intergenerational Partnerships (IP) programme area. This is a central role in advancing one of our 3 key programme areas of inner diversity, family relationships and communication, and intergenerational partnerships in order to reach our vision of a world where every child can fulfill their unique potential.

The Programme Lead  will report directly to the Head of Programmes and work closely with other Programme Leads.

Key Responsibilities

Programme Area Development:

  • Develop, refine and improve our intergenerational partnership approach and programme model to represent our unique selling point, and to be impactful.
  • Adapt programme model according to, amongst others, context, partnership, settings (including humanitarian, fragile and conflict settings).
  • Develop and execute our annual IP programme area plans
  • Work with the Learning for Well-Being Institute to generate programme evidence

 

Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Continuously update knowledge on global, and select regional and  national, child rights, child participation and child well-being landscape, including for instance, key players, networks, moments for engagement and influence, and opportunities
  • Represent the Foundation at meetings, conferences, gatherings, and other events to advance our IP programmatic agenda
  • Represent the Foundation as an expert on governing bodies such as steering committees and technical taskforces related to children’s rights and child participation.

 

Partnership Development:

  • Working closely with our Partnerships & Advocacy team, and Grants Manager, to identify and cultivate strategic partnerships with organisations, institutions, and networks in areas of children’s rights and child participation.
  • Lead, contribute to and support grant applications related to intergenerational partnerships, including as part of consortia of applicants
  • Work with partners to co-create and implement initiatives that drive the foundation IP programmatic agenda.

 

Capacity Development and Technical Support:

  • Internal
    • Build capacity of staff on our intergenerational partnership approach, child safeguarding and how to work with children/youth.
    • Support country offices in developing, strengthening, and improving their programmes related to intergenerational partnerships
    • Serve as the Foundation’s child safeguarding focal point
  • External
    • Lead or engage in training regarding our intergenerational partnership approach, child safeguarding and how to work with children/youth.

 

Qualifications:

  • Minimum Masters degree in Education, Social Sciences, or a related field. Advanced degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in children’s rights, child participation, or a related field, preferably within the education or non-profit sectors
  • Proven track record in developing and/or implementing programmes in children’s rights, child participation approaches, and building strategic partnerships.
  • Strong understanding of the programmatic landscape and networks related to child participation and holistic well-being.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing multi-stakeholder projects of medium to large scale across varied geographies, including both high income and low and middle income countries
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and influence diverse stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
  • Commitment to the Foundation’s vision, purpose, and values, where we foster a culture of curiosity, caring, openness and trust.
  • Availability and willingness to travel.

  • Experience with working remotely & collaboratively in an international team
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and respond effectively to new challenges
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, additional languages an advantage.
