The Teachers Service Commission (TSC) has issued a stern warning to the public regarding a fraudulent scheme circulating online, claiming to recruit 20,000 teachers into public schools. The commission emphasized that the alleged recruitment drive is not authorized and urged job seekers to exercise caution to avoid falling victim to scammers.
According to TSC, individuals behind the scam are contacting aspiring teachers through social media, emails, and even phone calls, promising guaranteed employment in exchange for fees or personal information. Some victims have reported being asked to pay sums ranging from Sh5,000 to Sh20,000 as “processing fees” to secure a teaching position.
The commission clarified that all official TSC recruitments are advertised only on the TSC website, official social media handles, and through mainstream media outlets. TSC does not charge any application fees for teacher recruitment.
