About the Programme

Designed and delivered by UNITAR, this 4-week online training equips young leaders with an in-depth understanding of the UN system, multilateral diplomacy, the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and cosmopolitan communication. The programme combines self-paced learning with live webinars and workshops led by UN practitioners.

Who Should Apply

Open to a broad global audience, including:

  • High school or university students

  • Junior professionals from public or private sectors

  • Aspiring leaders interested in international affairs

Even senior officials “young at heart” are welcome. No prior UN experience is required.
To maintain a high-quality learning experience, participation is limited to 30 participants on a first-come, first-served basis.

Learning Objectives & Structure

Modules & Workload:

  • 4 self-paced e-learning modules (4–6 hours/week):

    1. The United Nations System

    2. Conference Diplomacy

    3. The SDGs

    4. Cosmopolitan Communication

Live Elements:

  • Weekly 1.5-hour webinars (via Zoom) led by UN experts covering topics like UN careers, SDGs, and MUN training

  • Weekly 3.5-hour e-workshops focusing on leadership and negotiation skills

All sessions are scheduled in the afternoon in Geneva time and will be recorded for participants in other time zones.

Certificate & Costs

  • Fee: USD 750

  • Certification: Upon successful completion, participants will receive an official UNITAR certificate
